Brooklin Horticultural Society
The Brooklin Horticultural Society is a volunteer organization founded in 1921 to provide a welcoming environment for all who enjoy creating attractive gardens for themselves and to help keep the public spaces of our community beautiful.
Our members come from all areas of the Brooklin/Whitby area. Over 100 members attend our monthly meetings with guest speakers and horticultural competitions. Member volunteers help with our annual events such as plant sales, Spring Fair float, the monthly flower shows and the Brooklin Harvest Festival. Members also help to maintain our community garden projects, and get to tour outstanding gardens in and around Brooklin and Whitby.
The Sunflower is the official flower of our club, and several can be seen at the community gardens we maintain.
Our Website provides information on our activities and events, encourages guests and all members to attend our meetings, and provides useful gardening information for all who visit. A listing of the planned shows and events for 2016 is now available. View the 2016 schedule here.
