2012 Meetings and Events
Brooklin Horticultural Society holds its meetings on the 4th Wednesday of each month (see list below) with the exception of January, July and December. Hear a presentation, win raffles, show off your gardens' results, and socialize with novice and master gardeners while you have a coffee and a snack! Meetings are open to all. Meetings are usually held in Brooklin United Church Hall, Cassels Road East, in Brooklin, beginning at 7:30 p.m. sharp.

Guest Speaker: Kate Seaver "Seven Steps to Successful Perennial Gardening" Kate Seaver, M.Sc. is a Horticulturist, Floral Designer and Garden Décor Expert. After almost twenty years as a corporate executive, Kate followed her passion for gardening and created Kate's Garden, a Botanical Retail Studio which specializes in Perennial, Gardening Services and Botanical Seminars and Events. Since one of the purposes of the society is to encourage the production of high quality plant and flower products, shows are held each month from April to October (except July). These flower shows give members a chance to exhibit new varieties, uncommon plants, and creative arrangements. The shows are also an opportunity to be judged by experts on the merits of our everyday garden variety flowers and vegetables. Much can be learned from the judge's comments. Our flower shows are open to all members in good standing. Winners are eligible for prize points which earn monetary value, and can win some of the numerous society awards and trophies given for various best-of-show entries throughout the year.
